Re: IHMSA Rules and such
I don't own even one high dollar gun. I shoot a T/C Contender in Production and an unmodified XP100 in Unlimited. Both of your guns were last made in 1998. Imagine being a new shooter and trying to buy a new one of each at your local Cabela's. Cost of the guns is not the problem; supply of adequate...

Re: IHMSA Rules and such
I stand by my original post. I've been in this game since 1980, so I'm no newbie. If one were to take a Freedom Arms revolver and let an AA class revolver shooter use it in a match, I think he would pick up a MINIMUM of 10% more targets over let's say, his Ruger Super Blackhawk. If that's not "...

Re: IHMSA Rules and such
We can all agree that our membership numbers have suffered steep declines, but I have to disagree that the cost of guns is the cause of that decline. If a prospective shooter is put off by a $2000 gun, then why is the Precision Rifle series popular? Or Three Gun? Have you priced a race gun to shoot ...

June Match Results - Top Shot Silhouette
TOP SHOT SILHOUETTE QUITMAN, LA JUNE 19, 2021 BY: CHARLIE BRAUD I was joined today by local IHMSA member Will Kirste. My brother Philip made the long haul from south Louisiana to shoot with us as well. Will K started off the day with an entry in UAS and scored a 33X40 with his XP 300 Whisper. Phili...

Re: Reverse animal count tiebreaker
Plus,in your specific example, a turkey is arguably the hardest target to hit. It has a smaller effective target area relative to distance. So who is a better shot? Someone who misses a turkey, or someone who misses a pig? The reverse count is probably just an arbitrary system that's easy to apply. ...

May Match Results - Saline Creek Silhouette
SALINE CREEK SILHOUETTE GOLDONNA, LA MAY 16, 2021 BY: CHARLIE BRAUD Very low turnout again today, only myself and one guest shooter. I really stunk it up with my Production gun. I had trouble finding the targets at every distance. I didn’t do nearly as bad with my Unlimited gun and finished with a ...

May Match Results - Top Shot Silhouette
TOP SHOT SILHOUETTE QUITMAN, LA MAY 15, 2021 BY: CHARLIE BRAUD Another slow match this month at Top Shot. I pulled my old 7TCU XP100 out of retirement, removed the scope, installed some iron sights, and managed a 37X40 in Unlimited. It’s still capable even if I fell three targets short. My brother ...
