Re: Unlimited Guns & Stock Configuration Con't

Having a forend that is legal in one category but illegal in another is not a good idea. We need to have consistent rules. Enforcing a rule at the WC that is ignored at local matches is also not a good idea. Are the local MDs trying to tell HQ something here?

Re: Unlimited Guns & Stock Configuration Con't

So what is the bottom line here? We all admit that many local clubs allow guns that don't follow the rules and don't even check guns. Will these people who shoot local matches stay away from "formal" matches where guns are checked???? If these funny forends have been in use for years, isn'...

Re: July 2020 issue is up

Rich, I use the templates posted on the website. What format do you need? I am ready to send in another report for our August match and would like to deliver the format needed for the paper. Way too many match reports have been left out at this time so we need to know how to correctly submit future ...

Re: A New Range in Louisiana !!

Great looking range. I hope you have much success with your handgun matches. Great to hear about a new range instead of an old range closing down.

Re: Unlimited Guns & Stock Configuration

In the early days of IHMSA and into the 90s all rules were strictly enforced. Guns were always checked and weighed to make sure they were legal. Then IHMSA slowed down and most ranges didn't even perform gun checks. IHMSA was then a shoot for fun sport. Now it seems we are going back to watching for...

Re: Unlimited Guns & Stock Configuration

I have seen some examples on FB just now and wonder if they are conforming to BATF definitions. At one time the BATF did not allow "vertical" forends over so many inches perpendicular to the bore. Some examples sure look fat on the bottom and may not conform to BATF rules. I tried to Googl...

Re: Unlimited Guns & Stock Configuration

Why is the Unlimited category have stock restrictions as long as they follow the BATF designations for a legal handgun. After all this is why it is called unlimited. I remembered reading about a shooter with a handicap that had a very unique bolt gun built so he could compete in IHMSA. I am sure he ...

Re: Rules Meeting at OKC

Are the proposed rule changes posted somewhere so we can see what is being voted on?
Who is actually voting on the rule changes? Was that supposed to be done at the annual meeting?
Thanks

IHMSA News frequency

I know there have been several changes at HQ recently that have probably affected new editions of our paper. I would respectfully like to suggest that the IHMSA News be published on a set frequency so we all will know when a new version is expected. With the Covid-19 problem we probably don't have m...
