Re: Did you hear

Phillip,

You're one up on me! I tied with Gordon once but he promptly beat the snot outa me in the shoot-off. Good times. Gordon always shot from the standing position no matter what category he was shooting. It was always a pleasure watching him shoot, learned an awful lot.

Cheers,
John

Re: Did you hear

Houston area shooter Gordon Rysavy shot a big bore standing 38 at Greenwood Cun Club near Brazoria, Texas back in the late eighties. If I recall he used a 10 inch Contender chambered in 7MM TC/U. Think he missed one turkey and one ram.

Cheers,
John

Re: places to shoot in texas

The Dallas/Ft. Worth Matches are held at the Haltom City Gun Club.

Tim Lee would be a good contact for Texas NRA matches: Tim Lee <tim.lee@sbcglobal.net>

Good Shooting,

Re: places to shoot in texas

Where in Texas are you located? There are matches held near Houston, Brazoria, New Braunfels, Sweetwater and (I think?) Beaumont. The Dallas/Ft. Worth area and Austin have some NRA Hunter Pistol matches. Let me know and I'll put you in touch.

John

Re: What exactly are we paying for?

I don't care what it's called, just go! I shot IHMSA for twelve years before going to my first Internationals. Wished I hadn't waited so long. I've shot some great scores, some good and a lot more terrible scores but always had a great time. Made a lot of great friends and met a lot of characters. M...
