Re: Regarding Practical Hunter entries

In support of the 6x scope rule , I like that it evens the field for creedmore shooter and the prone/flop shooter. Without the 6x rule the prone shooters would all use 24x or higher scopes. And while it is possible to hunt with a large rifle scope on your handgun it is not the typical setup you see ...

Re: Regarding Practical Hunter entries

Please contact me with any input on the rules for Practical Hunter as we want to finalize the rules so they can be included when we reprint the rule book in early 2016. My feeling on this category is that it should be primarily used as a entry level category, free of an equipment race and the guns o...

Re: IHMSA Update Please!!!

Warren should have the minutes of the annual meeting. Warren is volunteering to do the secretarial portion of the job until a secretary/ treasurer is elected. The last I heard was that someone has sent the form into Dell Taylor who handles all the executive board elections. A few of the things discu...

Re: First post here w/question.

Our standard shootoffs for UAS is 6 ea. 1/2 and 4 ea. 1/4 scale chickens @ 54' . We also shoot a full course of 1/2 scale targets( not an IHMSA category) and the shootoffs for that is 10 ea. 1/4 scale chickens @ Rams also. Most of our shootoffs are decided 10-9 or 9-8. The clubs that use the turkey ...

Re: First post here w/question.

For air pistol UAS shoot offs you need very small targets. We use 1/2 scale and 1/4 scale air pistol chickens @ 54 ft. If clubs don't have those small of chickens they will often move the turkeys out to the ram line and shoot at the heads. Any pellet hit below the level of the back is scored a miss....

Re: When

Nancy is the president until the last day of the 2015 world championships in LA. I would like to thank everyone for their support and the many congratulations. This will not be an easy job, but I believe this sport is worth saving. As a competitor I bring that point of view back to the office. I pla...

Re: Martens sights?

Can anyone tell me if the Martens Sight company is still in business? I have sent them two e-mails, one replying to a previous e-mail that they sent to me and also one using the contact part of their website. I am still waiting for a reply. Geo The web site often won't forward the e-mail. You can c...

Re: Town hall meeting

I believe the president and the headquarters position should be separate. If you put too many responsibilities on any one volunteer you risk burn-out. Just look at many of the ranges we have lost, before they closed, all the work was being done by one or two people. The biggest issue I see is the st...
