Dan Gentry

I has asked in 2019 if anyone on here had heard anything from Dan Gentry. He was a faithful shooter at CTSA in New Braunfels, Texas. I had no phone number for him, and started an internet search. To my consternation, I found that Dan had passed away in 2018. He is buried in Ft. Sam Houston cemetery ...

Re: 40th Anniversary

This too is my 40th year. I joined in December 1980, and shot my first match in Victoria, Texas in January 1981. I did not get to shoot at my "home" range, New Braunfels, Texas until March of that year. Although I had been a handgun hunter since 1965, and killed numerous whitetail deer wit...

Re: wtb rifle basix trigger for herrett xp-100

Try to find one for the 600 series of Remington rifles. Those should work. Same basic action as Xp-100.

Re: REDUCED AND NEW ITEMS INCLUDED: WICHITA Custom MK 40R SILHOUETTE PISTOL

I had one of those, same caliber, but mine had Bomar rear and Bond front. I just sold mine earlier this year to a fellow shooter. The problem I had was the grip just didn't fit my hand, it was like holding onto a 2x4! My friend who bought it just loves it. My cousin ordered one of the first ones in ...

Re: Website upgrade

Dan, the new format looks nice. The only thing missing from the old format that I liked was the date of the last posting. Now you got to wade through each category to find it. Otherwise, I like it.

Re: Forming 7 TCU Brass

I've found that if I anneal the necks on the .223 brass first, I have far fewer rejects. I have up to 10% loss without annealing. It's a pain in the rear, but my brass seems to last longer. Since I'm shooting them in an XP-100 I only neck size after the first firing. You might have to full length si...

Re: Looking for RCBS Bullet Molds

In my Ruger .357 Max, I had to crimp over the front driving band. Dan Wesson's didn't have that problem as the cylinder was longer than Rugers.

Re: Looking for RCBS Bullet Molds

Having used the RCBS 180 grain silhouette mold and the RCBS 200 grain, the latter being for the old .35 Remington, I had the most success with the 200 grain mold, as far as accuracy was concerned. The 180 silhouette mold never was in serious contention with the 200 grain, and this was in several dif...
