Re: 32-20 load for Practical Hunter Long Course

Charles, and others; yes the 3220 cases have necks that are thin and require some care in handling, but they arent paper thin. In using cast bullets, the thin neck accepts a .311 or 312 bullet easily without shaving the bullet. I find that an advantage. Another item is case length. If you have R-P a...

Elmo, if you dont locate one here they show up on e-bay (some say ''flea bay'' ) at times. Search ''contender barrel''. RP

Re: 32-20 load for Practical Hunter Long Course

Wayne, I believe I still have a copy of ''Loading the Little 30s'' by the late Ed Bulick. If someone needs a copy please email rp946@bellsouth.net . Lately I find that 13gr 4198 seems to do well in each with an rcbs 165 Sil bullet. This is my experience and it is ongoing, so I dont recommend it with...

Re: 32-20 load for Practical Hunter Long Course

The 32-20 is not a lost cause for PH-LC. (PH-LC is another way of saying UAS , usually with a scoped Production gun). It (and the 30 Carbine, and 30 Reece) are quite viable with a 165 gr bullet or more.
Think RCBS 165-Sil or Saeco 311 if you go cast. RP

Re: 32-20 load for Practical Hunter Long Course

As Jim K says, a light .30 bullet cannot supply the momentum needed to topple the B B Rams. EX: to supply the .75 pounds ft needed, (.75 is regarded as a minimum), a 110gr bullet must hit the Ram at 1535 fps. A 125gr bullet must hit at 1350 fps. A 150gr bullet must hit at 1130 fps. Skipping up to a ...

Re: 2019 GA State SB & FP Championship Results

Lynn, this match was held at the Cherokee Gun Club, Gainesville, GA. Ron Dixon and Sherri Dixon are to be commended for match operation. The Ladies ruled the roost this time with Lisa Godwin and Sue Auman posting 60s. Other 60s were posted but these ladies claimed their first. RP

Re: Little River Gun Club - Match Results - 27Apr2019

Ken had a great day. I'm sure he will have many more. What a great day to be out. Just a little cool in the morning. It warmed nicely under cloudless skies. I'd also like to recognize Clint Johnson. Clint hit all of them in UAS, but a stubborn ram failed to cooperate. As Clint posted a 59 in UAS las...

Jonathan, it is a treat to see Lisa doing so well. Her score in 1/5 scale shows great progress. (Either a 34 or 36) Well done on the coaching. rp

Re: Need PH Topic

Lynn, and interested others; Yes, the Forum needs a P H section. Secondly, lets adopt P H as a ''Non Competition'' event. If that is done all of the ''What is legal'' debates go away. We dont care how you configured it. It is yours, you like it, you want to shoot it. That is all we need to know. (Ob...
