Re: Bullet weight for CPT

When shooting a 22 Hornet for Field Pistol for CPT (not Rams), what is the optimum bullet weight? 40? 45? 50? Heavier? Lighter? Why is your choice the best? What are the plusses and minuses? I have always used 55 gr Hornady SP on all four targets and sometimes RCBS 55 gr cast. I can't remember ever...

I've got a 10" blue Contender barrel that I can let go. It's got a Bomar rear sight and hooded front sight mounted on it. Let me think about a price and I'll let you know here.

Re: If IHMSA was starting today...

Here is a suggestion for a new match structure; 1. Simplify the skill "classification" system. A. it currently is 6 "classes consisting of: C, B, A, AA, AAA, & INT B. should be 3: A, B, & C C. this is simple D. we currently don't have enough entries to be bothering with break...

Re: If IHMSA was starting today...

Here is an idea that will raise some hackles! As an ex-match director whose club closed due to lack of volunteer workers due to age and disabilities, the hard work is big bore. Eliminate 200 meter competition and you remove the really hard work. Replace with half scale targets at 100 yards. Replace...

Re: If IHMSA was starting today...

I could enjoy a match like that. But how many new shooters are you going to attract when you can't walk into a gun shop today and buy a gun that can compete at targets set at 100 yards? People want to compete with the gun they already have. And for the past 20 years the move has been to tactical typ...

Re: If IHMSA was starting today...

I keep seeing the same question come up on this forum again and again, how can we attract new & younger shooters to our sport? First we have to acknowledge that our sport is not a spectator sport. It is a day long event that we don't know who won what. We go home and in a few days we get the re...
