Re: Bullet weight for HS and FS Rams

A few years back one of our NC members used an XP100 (single shot) in .223 for big bore. He used a heavy (maybe 85 or 90gr) bullet and keeping the hits high would take the ram target. Dave Chaney had an XP single shot in 30 BR. It was used in big bore with 100gr bullets. Used for Unl any sights and ...

Re: Gun for Field Pistol

[Steve, welcome to IHMSA. Regarding the Contender and 22 Hornet; The hornet is entirely adequate for Field Pistol. Why do you think it is not ? The Contender trigger may not be satisfactory on an average action or one used for hunting. With proper care the Contender trigger can be made under 1 lb. b...

.378 bolt for XP WTB

I'm in need of a 378 face bolt. Possibly someone has one at a reasonable cost.

Re: WTB .357 mag 14" contender barrel.

Steve, a 14'' barrel places you in Unlimited, including Unlimited--any sights and Standing Unlimited. There are better cartridges for those, most commonly the 7mm-TCU. Unless from the TC custom shop I'm unaware of any TC 14''' in 357 Mag. Find a 10in TC or other 357M barrel. It will serve for Prod, ...

.30 Reece powders

I realize the 30 Reece is not widely used. However I'm exploring the potential of SR4759 (which also is not in common use). The Reece has about the same volume as 32-20 (30-20). My bullet is the RCBS 30-165 which has a long nose section so shouldnt take up powder space. I;m open to suggestions. I've...

Hornady Customer Service

I wish to recognize and commend our friends at Hornady. Recently I opened a box of bullets. I thought it a bit curious that the bag had been ripped. Upon counting the bullets I understood the situation. Nearly two dozen bullets were not there. I emailed Hornady Customer Service more to advise them t...

Use of Red Dot in Production

I believe there was a discussion possibly a few years ago concerning the Red Dot sight as long as it was 1x. That may have been a trial or had an age restriction. Was there a decision on the legality ? Is it still a trial ?
