There was a decent turnout and I was able to shoot my first 40 (+5) in UAS Small Bore with my Exemplar. Previous attempts were always thwarted by st...

Re: Best dies for .357 Max

Consider the RCBS 3 die set #18212. Carbide sizer die needs no lube. Available from Amazon/Midway for a little over $50.00, plus shipping.

Maybe it is just me but where is the link to the newsletter? When I click on "IHMSA NEWS" on the index page it brings me back to this message post. I do not have an embedded link showing in the post.

Re: MAKING APERTURES FOR PEEPS

Just made this one and used black Delrin for the insert. I'm going to do another with black acrylic. Delrin machines like butter but it tends to be "stringy" and something this small is a SOB to deburr. The hole is .070 and the O.D. of the insert is .125. O.D. of the whole disc is .682. ht...

Re: MAKING APERTURES FOR PEEPS

One thing about cast acrylic is that it can vary somewhat from its specified thickness. The piece from which I am working is .125 nominal but is averaging about .110. I like the .125 nominal material as it has enough meat to make sure the insert goes in straight. Of the three I cut in this pic, one ...

Re: MAKING APERTURES FOR PEEPS

I start with cast (not extruded!) acrylic sheet and I leave the factory masking on. I next cut it into small squares and drill a .093 pilot hole in the center and stack them on a .093 dowel pin. I usually saw the corners off of the squares to make turning a little quicker and less likely to catch. T...
