2024 IHMSA rule proposals
Fellow members, Attached should be 3 rule proposals that have been submitted for discussion and voting at the annual meeting. Please treat this announcement as if it was in a printed copy of the IHMSA News from years gone by. Just the messenger here, I don't have a dog in this fight. Rich Hawkins 20...

Re: HS XP stock. SOLD
Well darn. A few years ago, a stock like this was paired with a Rem 700 stock with matching paint pattern, both for sale. I bought the rifle stock, but often lamented passing on the XP stock even tho it was a mid grip (I'm a rear grip shooter). Oh well...

Range and match safety
As we enter the 2024 outdoor season, please be reminded that the same act of "knocking the rust off" may also include some unsafe practices. Match directors and shooters alike need to be aware of their gun, barrel, and muzzle direction at all times during the shooting process. ----Your gun...

Re: If IHMSA was starting today...part 2
Would the 2024 demographic include rifle shooters? I'm thinking about youth, cowboy, the occasional club shooter, all with .22 LR, who wants to test their skill on the 3/8 scale targets, then perhaps "graduate" to 1/5 scale. Same 2 minutes we use for handgun, but at IHMSA distances instead...

Re: If IHMSA was starting today...part 2
So I'm thinking that our game was created almost 50 years ago and other than aftermarket sights and UAS categories, it has remained largely the same. Meaning, it was original factory sights only for about 15 years, followed by mostly open sights for about 20 years, and now optics are quite popular. ...

Re: .25-20 WCF ammo
I agree. Demand for ammo is high enough that reloaders are now a niche market. Newer shooters pay more for factory ammo because they never bought it at pre-covid prices. It's the new norm.

If IHMSA was starting today...part 2
Original thread started a year ago. So Part 2 begins here, a year later, a year older, a year more wear on our bodies, eyes, knees, etc. What are your thoughts now? Any change? Before starting this thread, I reviewed all 5 pages of the original thread. Some good comments to be sure, but never a cons...
