Re: .44 mag.
you don't get it, your name!!! Ahhh.... Long story short, I came up with it about 20 years ago as my CB "handle" when I drove 18 wheels for a living. Is a play on words involving my admiration of the music of Buck Owens and a large mortgage I took on at the time... ;) Been using it ever s...

Re: .44 mag.
bucks owin..how not original! jeeeejjjjze =)) =)) :o) :o) I don't get it. Helpful? As for .44 Mag and lead bullets, for Field Pistol I've had good results with a mere 6.5gr 231 under a 240gr projectile. I don't get it either...It's a slightly oversize RCBS 250K that drops at 262 grs with my alloy, ...

Re: New to the game
My old Ruger 10" Flattop .44 likes the RCBS 225 GC or 250K PB equally well when loaded to around 1250 fps. Powered with W-296 or (the once again discontinued ) SR-4759...Plenty of power, very accurate, easy on my old arthritic wrist...

Re: What's your favorite lube?
I use LBT Blue. Has always worked great. .357 mag at 1100-1200fps 357 supermag at 1550-1750. Does require heat but no smell and no problems. Have tried many different lubes, including various concoctions from the "boolits" forum ( :-@ ) and now will never have anything but LBT Soft Blue i...

Re: Why not the 256?
Just wondering why the 256 Mag isn't legal for FP? Not much difference in performance between it and the 30 carbine or 32-20, which are both legal. Sure it isn't a straight walled case, but it was developed as a pisto l round and was orginally offered in a gun that would definately be FP legal (the...

Re: To all you SR4759 users
I emailed Dave Campbell at Hodgdon too and confirmed that it will no longer be made. Then I read "somewhere" that there would be one more run of it. Of course finding ANY powder these days is tough, never mind favorites!
And SR-4759 certainly was a favorite of mine...
