Re: 357 Herret

I don't really mind the recoil...even 210gr Cast RN over IMR4227.

Re: LeveRevolution and the .357 Herrett

Thanks for the reply. Hodgdon admits that Lever is a specialized powder that doesn't really have an accurate spot on the Burn Rate Chart. To give you some idea: 30-30 170gr (H4198 20.5gr 1764fps start-22.5gr 1918fps max) 30-30 170gr (LVR 33gr 2145fps start-38.5C 2332fps max) 35 Rem 180gr (H4198 28gr...

LeveRevolution and the .357 Herrett

Anyone tried it yet?
The powder seems to work very well in both the 30-30 AND the 35 Remington. I am just trying to figure out a safe way to come up with a load to try.

Re: 357 Herret

Thanks. I am really looking forward to putting it to use. It was an ebay find a couple of days after getting my first Contender. Immaculate barrel, pistol scope, brass, dies, and the T/C reloading manual. My local range has a cap on velocity. So my thinking was to run a heavier bullet, with a full l...

357 Herret

Just received a new to me .357 Herret factory barrel. I was perusing the Contender Loading manual the previous barrel owner surprised me with when he sent me the barrel. I noticed that the heaviest bullet listed is 200gr. I have noticed there are some 225gr and 250gr bullets available. Has anyone lo...

So, I took the plunge and put in an order for a Rossi Matched Pair in .22LR and .45Colt/.410. The barrels are interchangeable with the .22LR barrel bored offset s...

Shot my EAA Witness .45ACP (230gr Winchester Target Loads "White Box"), factory 4.75 inch barrel first time out. The sights were set up for home defense so everything was pure guess work... Shot my next match (same set of targets) with the same weapon in .22lr (factory conversion) 40gr &qu...
