Shooting after cataract surgery
I'm 72 and haven't been able to shoot open sights for about a decade. Cataract surgery is rapidly approaching. Those of you have had cataract surgery, has it improved your ability to shoot open sights? Any recommendation on lens choice?

Re: Picatinny on old T/C Contender Barrels
I'm not all that hand so not looking to file anything. Was thinking about taking it to a good gunsmith but that will cost more than finding the right part. I found something that looks like it will work at opticsplanet.com. Evolution Gun Works T/C Contender Picatinny Rail Scope Mount to replace the ...

Re: Vudoo pistol????
I saw it last month in Idaho Falls and as Dan says, under development. At that time Dell was working on a trigger and prototype stock for it. I don't know how far along he is with them but so far the gun is looking good. I look forward to seeing how it shoots.

Picatinny on old T/C Contender Barrels
I'm picking up a few used and inexpensive scopes to convert a couple of T/C Contender barrels for us in Practical Hunter. Been looking for risers that set the scope farther back to make up for poor eye relief of these pistol scopes in Creedmore. I'm only finding Picatinny style stuff and my barrels ...

Re: Contender .357 Mag loading for Practical Hunter?
I have used the 4227 powders (12gr) primarily with the RCBS 200 FN bullet. .357 chambers may vary from virtually no throat----like mine---to a very long throat. You should check yours. I've also found Accurate 1680 (Now Western Powders) to be usable. The 180 to 200gr bullets will serve best on rams...

Contender .357 Mag loading for Practical Hunter?
As the old eyes continue to fail I'm thinking of using an old 10" barrel Contender in .357 Mag and red dot sight for Practical Hunter Long Course. I have a few hundred Hornady 180 gr. JTC-SIL left over from my revolver days as well as an existing supply of IMR-4227 and H110. (In the past I've u...

Re: Scoping a .22 Hornet for FP question
I use a 3x-9x rifle scope on a Ken Light Mid-Rise mount on my .22 Hornet, no trouble. I put my left hand on the scope, taco style.

Hodgdon H4227 Replacement
I've been using Hodgdon H4227 in my 22 Hornet for field pistol and in my Rampro 7JI for big bore and half scale. I've used up the last of my old stock and with H4227 no longer available I'm looking for a replacement. I see that IMR 4227 has a similar burn rate. With minor load adjustments is IMR 422...

Quilt Raffle at IFSA
My wife made a quilt to raffle off at the Lava Bed Shootout hosted by Idaho Falls Silhouette Association. Match will be held August 11-13, 2017 but the quilt will be at the range tomorrow when tickets go on sale. You can view photos of the quilt on the IHMSA (International Handgun Metallic Silhouett...
