My dad used to joke that we were really lucky to live in Odessa TX. He said that "you can go only 300 miles in any direction and find something nice".

Re: Lack of interest?
I grew up in West Texas and cannot understand why anyone would want to go there for any reason other than a job. It is a miserable place, especially in the summer.

Re: productin rules TC Contender
Perhaps you can buy an older barrel. As I recall, TC used to sell shorter barrels.

Introduced my wife to SB this afternoon
As I mentioned in a earlier report today, my wife shot a 40 with my air pistol on her first time out. Later we got out the Contender with a 22LR match barrel and 4X scope set up to shoot in the flop position. She fired 50 rounds and missed only one target. I have 3/8 swingers set up at 25-50-75 yard...

Introduced my wife to air pistol shooting
I have a scoped IZH46, set up for shooting from the flop position. Today I showed my wife the fundamentals and she shot her way through 20 targets and missed only one. Then she settled down and shot a 40, something that I have never done. Later today she is going to give SB a try, I expect her to do...

Re: Contender 22LR Match barrel
I have also removed rounds and found rifling marks on the bullet.

Contender 22LR Match barrel
I have noticed that some rounds are very tight fitting in my 22LR Match barrel. I have used target grade ammo from four different manufacturers and find a few tight rounds in every batch. Is this normal with the contender barrel?

Re: Rim thickness
Maybe it is just a finer shade of gray, but wouldn't a variation in rim thickness be the same as a variation in head space? I've read where some folks think head space is very important, but I have no first hand knowledge. I recently bought the tools to check it in my Contender, but haven't gotten i...

Re: Shooting glasses advice
I have found that using an adjustable aperture on my glasses really helps. The device mounts onto you glasses with as small suction cup, and you can dial down the opening until both sights are sharp. Re: Proposed New IHMSA Practical Hunter Classes
I am a new guy here, just joined IHMSA a couple of months ago. In trying to get ready for a match I have been pretty busy trying to get a couple of guns sighted in. It takes time, dedication, and a place to shoot. It is one thing to sight in at one distance, but 4 for SB and 4 more for BB is more tr...
